A day at the museum of Primitivo di Manduria

A story to tell, the one about the Primitivo di Manduria, wine that inflected in all its different versions from dry red to powerful and scented rosé or sweet nectar for meditation and desserts, is now at the top of many international ranks as one of the best and most popular Italian productions. The link between the grape and the region has been lasting for centuries and in order to begin to understand its history, as well as to try its taste, what’s better than a visit to the Museum of Primitivo in Manduria, built inside the old underground bulk wine cisterns of the Winery Consorzio Produttori Vini.

It is the oldest cooperative for the production of the wine Primitivo, keeper of the secrets of its terroir and now aiming at spreading the knowledge of this fascinating product and what it represents

An interesting path along the history of the farmers who were partners of the winery from 1932, when the cooperative was founded, to the present day, followed by a guided tasting of the different labels. Click here for some nice pictures taken during a trip that we took to the winery and the museum during the Primitivo Wine Tour Day on March 26th 2018. If wine is the ambassador of its region, you can’t help but at least stopping for a sip and a chat here during your trip in this part of Puglia.
